Lord of the Chain Rings mountain bike race
(dates for 2012 to be confirmed)
A very successful mountain bike
race took place in 2010 in Hogsback . This mountain bike race
will become
an annual event. The race started and finished at the Arminel hotel. There were three different routes
marked out.
One of them took the riders up
Plaatjieskraal road to the forest workers huts, then the dam, around
the dam and up to Seymour road towards
Cathcart, then to Happy Valley and around the
Hogsback mountains and back
2010: There were 53 teams of 2 and a further 52 single riders for the
Hobbit 1 race on the Saturday. The organisation was thorough
and the route challenging and the views along the route beautiful.
There was a lot of positive feedback and people are already
looking forward to the next event,
Supersport filmed the event with the help of a helicopter and
there were four different bike magazines and all will write articles
on the race. This race was rated as the third best in the country
and promise to become a very popular sporting event
So all in all a huge success and everybody is looking forward to
next event
